Our mother organization. The Maryland Writers’ Association (MWA) is a voluntary, not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the art, business, and craft of writing. MWA’s diverse membership ranges from professional freelancers and published authors, to writers aspiring to be published and those who write as a creative outlet. Members hail from all over Maryland as well as from Washington, D.C., Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
CityLit Project nurtures the culture of literature in Baltimore and throughout Maryland. CityLit seeks to increase public appreciation for quality literature and to enhance the ability of local and area writers to create literature and reach larger audiences. CityLit is building a community of readers and writers, and provides opportunities for the public to learn about, connect with, and celebrate the fundamental value of literature.
Write Here, Write Now offers workshops is to create and sustain a community of writers in Baltimore, and give each member a place to develop their voice and vision in an non-academic setting. We offer productive, supportive feedback and encouragement, while honoring the mystery and magic of writing, as well as technique/craft.
